Laugher yoga is a unique exercise routine that combines unconditional laughter with yogic breathing. Anyone can laugh without relying on jokes, humour or comedy, and the body cannot differentiate between real and simulated laughter. What starts as simulated laugher and childlike playfulness, can soon turn into real and contagious laughter. Laugher yoga is the only technique that allow adults to achieve sustained, hearty laughter without involving cognitive thought. When combined with the characteristic breathing, stretching, chanting and body movement which help to break down inhibitions and encourage a childlike playfulness, the combined effect is a powerful and immediate effect on our physiology. Started by Dr Madan Katari in Mumbai in 1995, laugher yoga has now grown into 70 countries.
